My Honest Ab Circle Pro Review

As everybody knows, it’s hard to get rid of abdominal fat. I don’t need a ripped six pack; if I just had a flatter stomach I’d be happy. I saw infomercials for Ab Circle Pro and decided it was right for me. It looked like lots of fun and the commercial guaranteed that I’d lose weight and get flatter abs.

However, I was extremely disappointed. I’ll try to be fair in my Ab Circle Pro review, but things didn’t turn out how I expected they would and I ended up finding something better (but more on that later). Here’s my Ab Circle Pro Review.

My Experience With Ab Circle Pro

The Ab Circle Pro is a piece of gym equipment that you strap yourself into and slide back and forth on. It gives you a pretty good workout. I noticed that after just a few days of using the Ab Circle Pro, I could feel the burn and I had to bump it up to a higher level to get the same workout. I could really feel that my core was stronger and my whole body felt like it was in better shape.

The low-calorie diet that comes with the program was easy to follow (but hard to stick to!). The nutrition guide makes it really simple. I’ve always found that to be the biggest challenge in dieting – all that thinking about meals and planning. The Ab Circle Pro nutrition guide really takes all the hassle out of it and there are some great recipe choices.

Unfortunately, I only got about a week of use out of the machine before things started breaking. I can’t tell you if it continued burning calories or not because the whole thing fell apart. The rollers started wearing down, the kneepad cracked and it wouldn’t sit on the mount the right way anymore. Once everything started to fall apart, it was all over. It was pretty much unusable.

What Ab Circle Pro Reviews Have To Say

I should’ve read the Ab Circle Pro reviews online more carefully. I would’ve found out everything before I bought it. Lots of reviewers talk about their machines breaking down in the first DAY, so I guess I should consider myself lucky. Here are just a few things that negative Ab Circle Pro reviews say.

  • The rollers wear down
  • The machine warps quickly
  • The mount comes out of the slot or doesn’t fit in completely
  • The paint starts peeling after just minutes of use
  • The wheels chip and break
  • Customer service is close to non-existent
  • You have to pay shipping ($35 each way) to get replacement parts

In other words, the Ab Circle Pro is badly constructed using substandard materials and their customer service doesn’t give 2 hoots if the thing breaks. Almost all of these reviews say that it’s a great concept. Everybody loves the idea of the side-to-side motion (I did too), but the machine just can’t hack it.

Don’t take my word for it, though. Have a look at Amazon and you’ll see that lots of people gave it a 1-star rating. There are also other review sites and forums where you can see people complaining about this product.

Ab Circle Pro Alternative – The Truth About Abs

I felt like I’d been lied to and decided I’d never buy another piece of gym equipment again. While I was wondering what to do next to get my abs flat, a friend turned me on to an e-book called The Truth About Abs by Mike Geary.

I was not particularly interested in purchasing another product to help me with my abs, but this one grabbed attention. The website says in huge lettering ‘If you are LAZY, this is not for you.’ Then, it goes on to call you foolish if you think there’s a magical remedy for abdominal fat! It was refreshing to hear straight language like that, instead of all of that sales talk about how ‘it’s so easy and the fat burns right off!’

The book first explains the 2 primary components for effectively burning abdominal fat and uncovering your abs. First, you need a calorie deficit in your diet. Mike Geary explains how to achieve this and also shares very interesting diet tips along the way, such as his list of 5 powerful fat-burning foods.

Second, you need to be burning calories by working out. But you don’t do this by simply doing crunches. The book teaches you some unconventional workouts that you might not expect in a typical ab routine. I was surprised to find that so many of them focused on other parts of the body like biceps, shoulders and back. According to the book’s philosophy, you need a good overall workout routine in order to get six pack abs; you shouldn’t just focus on that muscle group.

The download comes with the book itself in PDF form, a metabolic calculator guide, a meal planner, a subscription to author Mike Geary’s newsletter, a fitness DVD and an audio series. It’s a lot of stuff to consume, but once you get started you’ll be hooked.

After I started reading the book, I did a little research and discovered that it’s the Internet’s top-selling fitness book. The author Mike Geary is a trainer and nutrition specialist who has also been published in a number of offline fitness magazines. From the beginning of the book, you can tell that he knows his stuff.

The Truth About Abs is pretty huge (over 120 pages!) and it may seem like a lot to digest. But I found the workout routines so helpful and it was good to understand better how you get great abs. If I’d known all of that before, I wouldn’t have fallen for the Ab Circle Pro infomercial.

I’m not sure if The Truth About Abs is for everyone, but for me it was really refreshing to find something honest and authoritative, rather than just hype. It’s definitely done a lot more for me than the Ab Circle Pro that’s now in a pile collecting dust in the garage.
